The new VMX601DAB moniceiver brings modern infotainment to vehicles with a classic 1-DIN radio slot. Installing modern infotainment systems is often difficult—particularly in many modern classics and classic cars from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s (such as the VW Golf I–III, BMW E30/E36, Mercedes 190, Porsche 911 up to the 993 model, and many others)—simply because there isn't enough space for a larger 2-DIN unit. This is precisely where the VMX601DAB shines: it fits into the standard 1-DIN slot yet offers a generous 6.3-inch touchscreen with a rotary control knob, alongside state-of-the-art multimedia technology. With features like DAB+ digital radio, Bluetooth® hands-free calling, and audio streaming, the moniceiver offers a level of functionality rarely found in such a compact installation format.

 

One of the VMX601DAB's standout features is wireless smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™. Familiar smartphone interfaces are clearly displayed on the 6.3-inch screen, allowing for convenient and intuitive operation. Despite its compact 1-DIN format, the VMX601DAB boasts an impressively comprehensive feature set. In addition to DAB+ digital radio and Bluetooth®, it includes USB ports with charging functionality, pre-amplifier outputs, audio/video inputs, and connections for front and rear-view cameras. The modern Linux operating system ensures fast response times and high system stability. A practical touch: you can continue listening to DAB+ radio or playing music via USB even while using navigation through Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™.
