GENERAL – i15 / i50 / i60 / i61

The Android operating system on an ESX Naviceiver is an open platform that allows you to personalize your device the way you want. After registering, you can download apps from the Google Play Store and use them on your device.

ESX has no influence on the content or functionality of these apps. We therefore cannot assume any liability for the functionality, operation or damage caused by downloading and/or using apps. ESX cannot provide service for the apps that are subsequently installed on the device. Use is always at your own risk. If you have any problems, please contact the app developer.

Your ESX device has internal memory with a limited capacity. By downloading apps, videos, photos and music, for example, you fill up this memory. If the memory is full, there is a possibility that certain apps will no longer work or will only be usable to a limited extent. In this case, you will have to delete apps or content to restore functionality. You are responsible for managing the storage yourself. You can usually find the remaining storage capacity under > Settings > Storage.

Important: Avoid installing too many apps or removing unused apps on the device, as these may affect basic functionality (e.g. navigation, radio, etc.).

You can remove or disable specific apps in the app menu under > Settings > Apps & Notifications. Apps that have already been deactivated can also be reactivated there. If a particular app does not respond or work correctly, remove the app and reinstall it.

Important: Due to increased system load and the simultaneous operation of several apps, the device's RAM can become overloaded and usability can be very sluggish.

In this case, quit any running apps or applications. If this is not sufficient, you should restart the device. Also check whether the device is updating in the background. In this case, just wait until these have been carried out.

1. Your own boot logo / startup logo is not recognized?

The file must have the following attributes in order to be recognized as a boot logo / start logo:

File format: BMP (Windows Bitmap)

Resolution: 1024 x 600 Pixels, at least 72 dpi

Color depth : 8-bit

Edit the image file accordingly with a commercially available image processing program and then save it on a USB stick that you can connect to the naviceiver.

2. Would you like to delete your user account and user data?

Delete user account:
In the "Apps" menu or in the main menu, tap on "Settings". Then open "Users and Accounts". Click on your active user account and confirm "Remove account".

Delete user data:
To delete user files such as pictures or videos, please use the file manager as described on page 18 of the owner's manual.

ATTENTION:  Do not use the "Reset to factory settings" function, which is in developer mode after entering the PIN code. This will delete important data of the operating system that cannot be restored.

3. Your device is very slow or has stopped responding?

TIP 1: Try closing a few applications first, or turning off the device and restarting it after a minute.

TIP 2: If TIP 1 did not help, you should press the reset button (RES or RST) on the front panel with a suitable object.

4. The learning of the steering wheel control does not work

With some ESX Smart Naviceivers of the i50 / i55 series there may be problems with learning the steering wheel remote control.

This problem can be solved with a current MCU update.
