What is the reason for your concern?
As soon as reverse gear is engaged, only a blue screen is displayed
Note:
In this case, no rear camera is connected to the ESX device, but its function is activated in the ESX device. When reversing, the image of the rear camera is normally transferred, but since this is not available, the ESX device shows only a blue screen.
Remedy:
Disable the "CCD" option under APPS -> OPTIONS -> DISPLAY.
As soon as the reverse gear is engaged, the music/media playback stops.
Remedy:
Disable the pause function under "Apps" >"Options" >"Display" >"Pause media whilst reverse".
The device response not or slowly on commands
Reason:
Due to the increased utilization of the navigation application, it is possible that the device does not respond to a quick touch. This problem may appear with OS Version 1.55 or 1.55-U1.Check the OS version under “Apps” > “Option” > “System”.
Remedy:
Proceed an OS Update to the latest Version. You will find it in the DOWNLOADS section.
Alternatively:
Enable under "Audio" > "Advanced" > "Key beep" and press and hold the desired Button for about one second. Thus you have the acoustic control if your command has been registered by the device.
After connecting a USB stick a signal is audible, but the USB stick isn’t selectable. The USB keypad in the Audio-Player menu remains gray
Remedy:
Depending on the size and data on the stick, it may take longer to read it out under certain circumstances. During this reading time, a possibly existing LED on the stick is flashing up. Wait until the reading is completed. Delete unnecessary or not compatible files on the stick to speed up the reading.
Delete user data
Remedy:
To delete user files such as images or videos, please use the file manager (files) as described in the user manual.
Note:
These devices cannot be reset to the "factory setting".

How to connect a (analog) rear view camera
Remedy:
You can connect a rear view camera on all ESX i10, i11, i20, i30 devices! Use the connection "Rear Cam Input" (refer to the installation manual or the label on the device) and the included 6-pin connector, which has the following connections:
Yellow RCA Video signal of the rear view camera
"REVERSE" blue cable Reverse signal (12V)
"GND" black cable Ground connection of the rear view camera
"+12V" red cable Power connection of the rear view camera (Max. 500 mA)
Warning! 12V output power, as soon as 12V are connected to „REVERSE“!
Connect the camera via RCA to the yellow RCA connector. Then connect the reverse signal (12V as soon as the reverse gear is engaged, e.g. from the reversing lights) from the vehicle at „REVERSE“ (blue cable).
Exception:
If the REVERSE signal is provided by the CAN-Bus signal it is not necessary to connect the blue cable
Note:
The connection of the „GND“ and „+12V“ cables is not mandatory, but can used as power supply for the rear cam. If you don´t connect the “+12V” red cable, get sure to avoid any shortcut!
Finally activate the „CCD-Camera“ checkbox under APPS -> OPTIONS -> DISPLAY at the ESX device.
Note:
Exception:
At some VW cars the display can be switched by touching the screen between CCD rear cam and park sensors (PDC)
No picture with after market camera
Remedy:
Check the proper connection (see point above) and the settings in the ESX device under “Apps” > “Option” > “Display”. Get sure, “CCD Camera” is activated.
The picture is too dark or too bright
Remedy:
You can change the picture settings when you push the right rotary controller. There you can switch trough the different settings:
Brightness > Contrast > Saturation
You can change the desired value with using the right rotary controller.
Note:
This also works with the Sources: “DVD”, “TV” and “Camera”
How to connect a (analog) front camera
The connection of a separate front camera is possible with the optional adapter VNA-CAM1 via RCA. Switch on the camera image via the button "Camera". Enable before the "Camera" switch in the menu (see manual section "Menu Assignment").

Mercedes-Benz VN710-MB-A2/2-DAB
The original factory AUX-IN in the glove box does not work (e.g. Mercedes Vito).
Remedy:
This AUX-IN is not supported, because it is not connected with the car CANBUS. The ESX CANBUS works with the car CANBUS, but in exceptional cases and different equipment variants, the functionality is not guaranteed. Use instead the VIDEO INPUT CABLE SET (refer to the installation manual Pg.4 # 5 - Slot J5) from the ESX device, which you can use as an AUX-IN.
For vehicles with radio preparation (ISO connector, no quadlock) the ESX device is not responding to the light signal (day/night mode)
The ESX device expects a CAN-Bus signal, which is not present in the radio preparation
Solution 1: Connect the CANBUS later on.
Solution 2: downgrade of the MCU version. Contact your dealer for this.
Attention: Make sure the latest version MCU must be installed again for the re-connection to the CAN-Bus.
For vehicles with radio preparation (ISO connector, no quadlock) the steering wheel remote control does not work with the ESX naviceiver.
Note:
The steering wheel remote control only works via a connected CAN bus.
Remedy:
Connect a CAN bus additionally.
