1. Your mobile phone cannot be paired with the ESX device via Bluetooth?

Older cell phones in particular no longer comply with the current Bluetooth standards. Nevertheless, here are a few possible solutions to establish a Bluetooth connection:

 

  • Restart the ESX device and the mobile phone.
  • Make sure that your mobile phone is "visible".
  • Delete unused Bluetooth connections in the ESX device and in the mobile phone.
  • Alternatively, start the pairing from the mobile phone.
  • Try a different mobile phone as a test.
  • Perform a software update on your mobile phone.

2. Does the hands free phone not work or does the voice quality leave something to be desired?

First, make sure that the mobile phone has connected to the ESX device via Bluetooth. Grant the Bluetooth connection to the ESX device all access rights. Make sure that the supplied external ESX microphone has been correctly connected and installed so that it is unobstructed at head height. Factory-installed microphones are not compatible with the ESX device.

 

NOTE: ESX devices of the generations i15 / i50 / i60 are delivered without an external microphone. These initially work with the internally built-in microphone. However, some vehicles have an insufficiently insulated dashboard, which means that driving noises impair the voice quality of the internal microphone. In this case we recommend an external microphone, which is available as an accessory for these devices:

3. Audio streaming via Bluetooth?

First, make sure that the mobile phone has connected to the ESX device via Bluetooth. Grant the Bluetooth connection to the ESX device all access rights. This procedure depends on your mobile phone. Then open the Bluetooth app or BT Music app in the ESX device (note the information in the respective user manual). Then start playing a piece of music on your mobile phone, which can then be heard on the ESX device. Audio signals from internet streaming platforms such as YouTube, Prime Music or Spotify are also transmitted. Depending on the mobile phone, control (forward, pause / play, back) can be done from the ESX device via touchscreen.

 

If you have problems with audio streaming, please note the following:

 

  • Make sure that the volume in the mobile phone is set high enough.
  • If necessary, deactivate the muting function in the mobile phone.
  • Restart the ESX device and the mobile phone.
  • Try a different mobile phone as a test.
  • Perform a software update on your mobile phone.

4. The call list of the ESX device does not match that of my cell phone?

Only calls are registered in the call list that were made during operation and with an active Bluetooth connection on the ESX device.

5. My favorite contacts were not transferred to the ESX device?

With the Bluetooth connection, only the contacts from your phone book are transferred, but not the favorites on your mobile phone.
