  • It’s not possible to store any radio station

    Remedy:
Search for a station you want to store, select one of the presets pages "FM1”, “FM2”, “FM3” or “FM4" and store the desired frequency by pressing and holding for about 2-3 seconds at one of the station memory fields. If "FM1”, “FM2”, “FM3” or “FM4" is not selectable, start the automatic station search (hold the magnifier symbol or “scan” for 2 seconds). After the search is completed (or also interrupted), "FM1-4" is now available and the radio stations are storable like described above.

  • The station search finds no station and runs continuously, but a working antenna is connected

    Remedy:
"PTY” is enabled, to disable it, choose under "PTY" on the upper left "None".

  • If you switch while playing a DVD, CD or MP3 CD to another source such as "Radio", the playback is not paused and continue in the background.

    Note:
This is not an error, because the signal feeds the"Rear Media" outputs, and there an uninterrupted playback is desired.

But if this is not desired or the "Rear Media" outputs are not used, proceed as follows: Open the main menu, select "Apps"> "Rear Media" and select in zone 1 and zone 2 "Off" as source.

2. Navigation

4. Bluetooth™/ Hands-free

3. Rear/front cameras

  • Operating note for listening to Internet radio with a smart phone

    Remedy:
Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to the ESX device and start the internet radio playback on the smartphone. The audio playback is now played via the ESX device.

  • The hands-free phone function does not work

    Remedy:
The original factory hands-free kit is not supported. Please use the included BT-microphone of the ESX device to have the best quality. Connect your phone via Bluetooth with the ESX device.

  • My phone wasn’t found from the ESX device

    Remedy:
Enable the Bluetooth function in your smart phone and ensure that it is visible for other devices. Refer to the manual of your smart phone.

  • No pairing possible

    Remedy:
Get sure, your smart phone is “visible”. Try to pair starting from the smart phone and/or restart the ESX device or the smart phone.

  • Blackberry smart phones (or any others) cannot connect and pair with the ESX Device

    Remedy:

Restart the ESX device and the smart phone. If too many Bluetooth devices are stored in the phone or the ESX device, delete all devices, which are not used.

  • How to connect a (analog) rear view camera

    Remedy:
You can connect a rear view camera on all ESX i10, i11, i20, i30 devices! Use the connection "Rear Cam Input" (refer to the installation manual or the label on the device) and the included 6-pin connector, which has the following connections:

Yellow RCA                        Video signal of the rear view camera

"REVERSE" blue cable      Reverse signal (12V)

"GND" black cable            Ground connection of the rear view camera

"+12V" red cable               Power connection of the rear view camera (Max. 500 mA)

Warning! 12V output power, as soon as 12V are connected to „REVERSE“!

Connect the camera via RCA to the yellow RCA connector. Then connect the reverse signal (12V as soon as the reverse gear is engaged, e.g. from the reversing lights) from the vehicle at „REVERSE“ (blue cable).

    Exception:
If the REVERSE signal is provided by the CAN-Bus signal it is not necessary to connect the blue cable

    Note:
The connection of the „GND“ and „+12V“ cables is not mandatory, but can used as power supply for the rear cam. If you don´t connect the “+12V” red cable, get sure to avoid any shortcut!

Finally activate the „CCD-Camera“ checkbox under APPS -> OPTIONS -> DISPLAY at the ESX device.

    Note:

    1. If the ESX unit is turned off, the display turns automatically on and shows the picture from the rearcam as soon you go into reverse as a apart from the safety function after engaging another gear, the display from the ESX unit turns off.
    2. If the ESX unit is turned on, the display automatically switches to the picture from the rear cam, when the reverse gear is engaged and the device does not allow any other operation, all the buttons and controller except volume control are blocked for security reasons. Also, the device can not even turned off.

    Exception:

At some VW cars the display can be switched by touching the screen between CCD rear cam and park sensors (PDC)

  • No picture with after market camera

    Remedy:
Check the proper connection (see point above) and the settings in the ESX device under “Apps” > “Option” > “Display”. Get sure, “CCD Camera” is activated.

  • The picture is too dark or too bright

    Remedy:
You can change the picture settings when you push the right rotary controller. There you can switch trough the different settings:

    Note:

This also works with the Sources: “DVD”, “TV” and  “Camera”

  • How to connect a (analog) front camera

The connection of a separate front camera is possible with the optional adapter VNA-CAM1 via RCA. Switch on the camera image via the button "Camera". Enable before the "Camera" switch in the menu (see manual section "Menu Assignment").

  • Important note for the Latest Map Guarantee

    Note:
The 30 day Latest Map Guarantee starts from the date of activation, as soon as the navigation software is receiving a GPS signal. Register for this free update within the first 30 days under www.naviextras.com and follow the instructions on the page by using the program "Naviextras Toolbox"

  • The Navigation starts no more / Request for user name/password

After selecting „Navigation“ the following error message appears::

    Reason:
The path to the navigation software was changed and now „DailUpSetting.exe“ will be executed at every navigation startup try (picture shows the dial up parameters for 3G/UMTS usage)

    Remedy:
Change the path like described in the user manual:

Apps > Option > System: Change the path with „Browse”

  • List of countries of the included maps in iGO Primo Navigation Software

Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, Vatican City

  • While the navigation application is running, the device response not or slowly on commands

    Reason:
Due to the increased utilization of the navigation application, it is possible that the device does not respond to a quick touch. This problem may appear with OS Version 1.55 or 1.55-U1.Check the OS version under “Apps” > “Option” > “System”.

    Remedy:
Proceed an OS Update to the latest Version, which you find in the DOWNLOADS section.

    Alternatively:
Enable under "Audio" > "Advanced" > "Key beep" and press and hold the desired Button for about one second. Thus you have the acoustic control if your command has been registered by the device.

  • The pre-volume of the navigation is not adjustable under "Audio" > "Advanced"

    Remedy:
This problem is well known and occurs only when "Audio Mixer" is enabled, due to type of construction the navigation software and audio player shares the same audio-channel. Set the "Audio Mixer" under "Audio" > "Advanced" to “OFF”.

  • In the navigation mode the speed warnings/alert points are not announced, although they are activated in the menu

    Remedy:
You need to purchase the radar detector option via www.naviextras.com for your country. Please refer to the legal regulations of your country.

    Note:

This option is selectable, because in some countries it’s allowed.

  • While navigation the day/night color does not respond to the light switch of the vehicle.

    Remedy:
The navigation software is switching the mode depending on the time (determined by the GPS signal) between day and night color.

    Note:
You can select the color design under "More..." > "Settings" > "Map Settings" > "Day Map Colour" respectively "Night Map Colour". 12 different designs are currently available.

  • Replace Navigation Software SD card with a larger SD card.

    Note:
Unfortunately it is not possible to copy the SD card or to use a larger SD card, because the license is firmly linked with the original SD card.

  • The key beep during the navigation with iGo interrupts the media playback (radio, music).

    Remedy 1:
Disable the key beep from the iGo navigation software: start navigation, >main menu >more >settings >sound and warnings >volume: click on the speaker symbol next to "Key". The key beep of the navigation software is now disabled.

    Remedy 2:
If you want the key peep and the navigation message only from the front speakers, go to >Audio > Advance and set “Audio Mixer” to “On”. Now the key beep and the navigation messages are only hearable from the front speakers.

  • Error message "Unidentified USB Device"

    Reason:
The TMC driver for the USB TMC module is missing. This error message should occur only with the OS Version 1.55 or 1.55-U1.

    Note:
Check your OS Version under Apps" >"Option" > "System".

    Remedy 1 (recommended):
Proceed an OS Update to the latest Version. The latest Version will always include the TMC driver which you find in the DOWNLOADS section.

    Remedy 2:
Install the driver manually. You can find the driver on the ESX iGo SD Card or you can also download the driver here DOWNLOADS. Unpack the .zip-archive with f.e. Win Rar (www.win-rar.com) on a USB stick or a SD card.

Connect the USB stick or the SD card with the ESX Naviceiver and open then under >Apps > Files > Other > USB or SD the appropriate folder and start the application CP210x_install.exe (white icon). The device confirms the installation afterwards. Restart the device.

  • No TMC reception

    Note:
In fringe areas, it is possible that you temporarily have no TMC reception. Maybe your reception is ok but, currently, there are no messages. Click on the TMC icon and on the next screen you will see on the bottom right the current tuning frequency. If the reception is strong enough, the (RDS) station name instead of frequency is displayed there, once a station is found with TMC. TMC Pro stations (private broadcasters) are only received when you bought an extra-cost feature on www.naviextras.com.

  • No TMC symbols are displayed in the navigation main menu

    Remedy:
The TMC module must be connected before switching on the device and the correct software drivers must be installed in the operating system.

    Symbols with a working TMC:

Main menu:  Three cars with i-symbol and signal bars

TMC available - but not receiving - search for suitable channels running

Map view: Transmission tower with signal bars

TMC sucht nach Sendern und Meldungen

Map view: Three cars with i-symbol and signal bars

TMC receives messages from a radio station

Map view: Warning message is displayed

TMC works and the expected time to reach the traffic obstruction will be displayed

  • No GPS satellite was found

    Note:
Do not install the device's GPS receiver under metallic covers or too far down inside the dashboard. Ideal for GPS reception is the installation on the A-pillar at the windshield. Please note that a metal-covered windshield can also affect GPS reception.

  • As soon as reverse gear is engaged, only a blue screen is displayed

    Note:
In this case, no rear camera is connected to the ESX device, but its function is activated in the ESX device. When reversing, the image of the rear camera is normally transferred, but since this is not available, the ESX device shows only a blue screen.

    Remedy:

Disable the "CCD" option under APPS -> OPTIONS -> DISPLAY.

  • As soon as the reverse gear is engaged, the music/media playback stops.

    Remedy:
Disable the pause function under "Apps" >"Options" >"Display" >"Pause media whilst reverse".

  • The device response not or slowly on commands

    Reason:
Due to the increased utilization of the navigation application, it is possible that the device does not respond to a quick touch. This problem may appear with OS Version 1.55 or 1.55-U1.Check the OS version under “Apps” > “Option” > “System”.

    Remedy:
Proceed an OS Update to the latest Version. You will find it in the DOWNLOADS section.

    Alternatively:
Enable under "Audio" > "Advanced" > "Key beep" and press and hold the desired Button for about one second. Thus you have the acoustic control if your command has been registered by the device.

  • After connecting a USB stick a signal is audible, but the USB stick isn’t selectable. The USB keypad in the Audio-Player menu remains gray

    Remedy:
Depending on the size and data on the stick, it may take longer to read it out under certain circumstances. During this reading time, a possibly existing LED on the stick is flashing up. Wait until the reading is completed. Delete unnecessary or not compatible files on the stick to speed up the reading.

  • Touchscreen inaccurate, commands are not recognized.

    Remedy:
Calibrate the touchscreen under "Apps" -> "Options" -> "System" -> "Calibration". Tap in the center of the appearing crosses until they are no more appearing. It is recommended to use the supplied stylus.
